Enter your name, email address and phone. Then click "Save Contact Info" button.
If you already have a catalog file to submit, click on the link labeled "show" next to "Upload a Catalog". A form box is displayed which will allow you to choose the local file and upload it. If your catalog uses %haspa, %nomag, %nospec, %nopm or %epoch, you can not edit these using this online tool. It must be submitted 'as-is' using the radio button labeled "Upload and Submit".
Use the SIMBAD search tool or manually enter the ID, the RA, the DEC, the PM, the PM, the VM, the ST and the Epoch. If SIMBAD returns a match, it will pre-fill the "Catalog Item Entry Form" fields for you. Click the button "ADD TO CATALOG" to add it. Note: Sometimes SIMBAD returns "connection to NED crashed". This indicates that the SIMBAD web service is temporarily offline.
If you have manually filled in each of the text boxes under "Catalog Item Entry Form", click on the icon to verify each field is in the correct format. If each input is in the correct format, the button "ADD TO CATALOG" will become active. Click on this button to add the new entry into your catalog.
If you would like to select items from the MMT's standard catalogs, click the link "click to show" next to "MMT Standard Catalogs". Next use the drop-down to select the standard catalog you wish to select from. This will open a second window (or tab depending on the browser) which will show the catalog. Put a check mark next to each item you wish to add to your catalog. Click "Add Selected" to add the selected items and click "Done" when you are finished. The window should close and you will return to your catalog with the desired items added to your catalog.
When finished adding items to the catalog, click on the button at the bottom labeled "Next. Preview the Catalog".
If you would like to add comments, use the text area at the top of the 'preview' page to enter comments.
To submit, select either "Submit catalog to the MMT" or "Download catalog only" and then click the submit link.
